Meet the Teachers

At Academy Day Nursery, our staff are specialists in providing the very best child care and educational experience. That’s why we employ staff who are experienced in supporting child development. All members of staff are highly experienced within the child care sector and work in line with the NDNA and safeguarding best practice. 

 

Debbie Simon, Founder

Debbie Founded Academy Day Nursery in 2004 after working her way up the ladder within the childcare industry. Since the establishment of the Nursery, Debbie has worked closely with parents, children and staff to maintain exception care standards. 

Since founding the Nursery, Debbie has achieved a number of awards for her commitment to childcare. Debbie strives for empowering and supporting parents and is involved in launching new initiatives to provide free learning sessions. 

Natalie Sisson

“My name is Natalie Sission I am the nursery manger for Academy Day Nursery. I have dedicated 20 years of my career working with children. Starting as an apprentice level 2 and working my way up. I have a wide range of experience working within the nursery settings and also in a school environment. I enjoy my role and put 100% into providing a high standard of care to meet each child’s individual needs. I am also a mum myself which means I understand how much it means to know your child is happy in the nursery you have chosen.”

Cherrelle Skerritt

“Cherrelle has worked for the nursery for over six years. She has a passion for working with children and watching them grow and develop. Cherrelle is the nursery co-ordinator and is also responsible for managing events within the nursery such as forest school activities and parent learning sessions. As well as this, every year she co-ordinates the family fun day that happens in summer. Cherrelle has just completed her management and leadership course. She also works closely with the pre-school teaching them basic French and dance, she holds a performing arts degree and host dance workshops during the holidays.”

Emma chauntry

“My name is Emma I’ve been working at academy for over 7 years. I’m third in charge and room leader of pre-school. I’m very passionate in working with the children getting them ready for school. I work very closely with the pre school children especially with the bear words and phonic, it makes me very proud to see the children progress. My other role within the nursery is the parent group which I’m in charge off, I arrange parent group meeting once a month and yearly summer trips.”
